Whoa, interesting....i definitely do not have that right side emoticon list.

Hmm....must figure out why that is.

You need to change the setting in your CP --> edit options, then at the bottom under "Miscellaneous Options" change the editor interface (it's a dropdown).

woot, thanks! that did it.

Now back on topic. I think this is a terrible move by Blizzard to show real names. If I somehow piss off someone, I don't want them to have any leads of who I am by having my real name show up on forum posts. As of now I do post semi frequently on the WoW forums.

I think the real fear is that people will learn that female orc they have been getting close to for years is actually a 44 year old guy with 3 children and 2 ex wives.

i think this is great. those forums are full of some shit talking little bitches, and honestly, if you're afraid of having your real name out there, don't post on the forums. nothing requires you to do it.

1) more than one person in the world usually has the same name. unless you have some freaky name, which...well i can't help you there.

2) don't talk smack and piss people off. right now you can make a fake level 1 toon and use it to talk major shit and no one can trace it back to your account, much less you. this has caused every 12 year old in the game to talk like they are brock lesnar with a giant set of testicles. having your name on there, even if it doesn't give your address or anything else, would cut down on this significantly.

edit: not saying you are talking smack or whatever, and i can see how you might piss someone off not talking smack, but not to the point they'd hunt you down or something. wow players are wacky folk, but most of the billy badasses are underage kids hiding behind the internet.

I do not hide behind level 1 alts and talk shit to others. If I feel justified in talking shit to someone, I use my main (since I only have 1 80 and a few low low level alts). I will only talk shit to someone if I feel they deserve it (ie they are a ninja, really suck at the game and don't listen, or purposely are being assholes, etc).

So again, I may piss someone off and I would not want to give them any leads more than they already have access too. My name isn't common, but it's not super uncommon either. However, the point is that there are enough places that I am made known public, but with a game like WoW, there is a much larger population of whackos and crazy people compared to other places that might have my name/info.
