interested in paintball

i shot my friend's paintball gun today, it was lots of fun and got me interested. i was wondering what are some good starter packages, i want to spend around $100 for everything i need. i know barely anything about paintball...is the Spyder Victor II a good gun? the price seems very nice.

Well, you won't be able to get a decent package for around $100. You can barely get a decent gun for that price. Try a spyder e99 avant - It's a good beginner's gun, but costs about $140 alone, without any gear. If you're looking for a full package, check out Ebay. Look for companies that have thousands of deals so you won't get screwed, that's what I did - I got my package for about $290, and it's pretty good. BTW, the Spyder Victor II is probably not a very accurate gun, so don't buy it.

Good luck.

Find a local field and go play a few rounds. You can rent a marker (paintball gun) and other crap you need so you can get a feel for the game before you go spend money.

A starter marker will cost like $150-200 for something decent.

my friend told me his gun was around $50, loader came with it, and his air tank cost around $30. he also had a big box of paintballs he got for $20. his seemed quite accurate...how did he get his stuff for so cheap?

I have an e-99 and its a great gun. My friend uses the Victor II and it is also a great gun...just not electric. That isn't that big of an issue, especially since you're just starting out. You could get everything for ~$150 or so going with the Victor II

$60 Victor II
$25 Mask
$20 20oz Tank
$40 Case of paint
$5 squegee

Reoccuring costs of course are the paint and air. Air isnt that much, ~$3 a refill, but paint can get expensive.

Few years back I got a brass eagle stingray kit for about $100. came with gun, tank, mask, bag, cleaning tools, pretty much everything needed but the balls. It's not a top of the line gun, but it works just fine.

Get your mask first. Go to a paintball shop and try a few on (don't have to buy them). Get something comfortable.

Remember, you get what you pay for.
