I wonder how many of those officers who tried to shoot the guy in the beginnign with their pistols but where hit survived.


Also, that move by the deputy to ram his truck seemed a little risky, especially since there still looked to be oncoming traffic...then again, it was prolly their best option.

It looks like the gunmans ex-wife and 1 bystander were the only two killed

David Hernandez Arroyo Sr., 43, the gunman.
Maribel Estrada, 41, the gunman's ex-wife.
Mark Alan Wilson, 52, a bystander with a concealed weapons permit who tried to help.

WOUNDED:
Smith County Sheriff's Deputy Sherman Dollison, 28, struck in
liver, lungs, legs, critical condition.
David Hernandez Arroyo Jr., 23, the gunman's son, struck in
leg, fair condition.
Smith County Sheriff's Lt. Marlin Suell, 38, gunshot wound to
back of neck, treated and released.
Tyler Police Detective Clay Perrett, 54, minor head injury,
treated and released.

My Uncle-in-Law witnessed this actually happen from inside a restaurant. He ran out to Wilson to try an help him and Wilson died in his arms.

For what it's worth, he let us know this in an email which included a 12 paragraph rant on the evils of Bush and weapons. He's a trial lawyer, btw. I'll see if I can dig up the email at home and post it.
