During the March 2003 invasion and the months that followed, they saw each other only a few times. Jeremiah's squad ran into trouble. The soldiers were having a hard time discerning soldiers from civilians. So they decided to shoot at everything that moved, according to their letters home. It got so bad that their commander took away their explosives.
