Intels GHz system is now totally useless!

How many different CPU's are at the same clock frequency?
Do they all perform the same?
How many different Intel chipsets can I put one of those chips with?
Do the chipsets perform the same?
When I go look at systems do I need a decoder ring to figure out the best Intel system I can afford?

You know, if I'm lookin to upgrade CPU, motherboard and memory for under $400 an AMD platform looks pretty darn easy to figure out.

Maybe Intel needs to learn to KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid)!
 
What does the GHz of a processor have anything to do with its supposed performance? AMD claims their PR rating is a method to measure performance officially. GHz is is the clockspeed, if yer dumb enough to take it as being some kind of performance measurement then I guess something else is useless.........

its not intels system, its not a system at all. ghz = 1000 mhz, and mhz is just the clock cycle of the freaking chip. the power company's 60hz rating is totally useless now.
 
I don't know bdog231 and BingBongWongFooey, I've seen some pretty useless posts on the boards.

Maybe I should have used a touch more sarcasm, to make my point.

and love the only 1 brand listed there but man you need some diversity
also buy what you want k but please try to be open minded it will get you farther in life lol
 
When I first read your post (having remembered that your not a moron from some of your other posts), I was wondering why the heck would he say this.

Thanks for the heads up on the P4A Combo, if it was for me I might go for it, but I just upgraded my system to an Abit KR7A-133R/ XP2000. I need to update the systems in my profile, I gave the 8K7A+ to the girlfriends kid.
I am looking into the 1700 - 1800 range for an upgrade for my sister's family (no OCing) for less than $300 (including ISA cards that need to be replaced). So far it looks like I'll be building another AMD system.

I know once in a while I'll type before thinking and I don't come across like I want to. But when you look around to see if you can give someone advice on a problem that they are having and all's you see are comentaries.....
I just needed to show how useless they can be.
