Ok, heres how i found this thing. I was cleaning up the garage and stumbled across an old PC. It was a 286! My first ever computer! Anyway before throwing it away, i decided to take it apart...

There was this odd little chip on the motherboard. I dont exactly understand what this chip is, if it was the CPU of that system or not. Anyway, I ripped it off the mobo. And here it is...

Someone explain this to me!!
Am i missing something here ??

p.s. Sorry for the blurry pics...

they are really the same company. they give you an illusion of choice when in fact you don't have it.

Ah Crap ...

Yeah I was hoping it would be more interesting!

Hmmm....is still intruiging though....Intel back then thinking "ah these small time nobodies, we can license them to do our bidding....." well look at them now!!

No, it's real.

Billions of year ago there was a site with hundreds of ICs and chips. I remember seeing a similar chip.

WHY do people just throw old computers in the garbage?

HELLO?!?! They're toxic people. Please recycle them.

And.. you killed a perfectly good Am80286/16MHz! :|

Hey man, that's blazing compared to the 4.77MHz of the i8088. ;) Imagine the possibilities! :Q

brings back memories of the first computer game I played, which was something called Battle Alley I think. It came on two 5 1/4" floppies, and I played it to death on my first computer, which was a Packard Bell 486 :( good times good times.

I'm OK as long as they give me an illusion that prices fall because of the competition and I can get a kick-ass processor for under $100.
