I have an Intellimouse Explorer USB mouse and I just upgraded to XP

I noticed while typing the led on the mouse seems to flicker sometimes and eventually if the mouse is left alone for a short while sometimes it doesn't work anymore

I have to reboot the computer in order for it to work again.

I do not have the mouse pointer hide during typing enabled (it's unchecked in mouse properties)

I downloaded the newest mouse drivers from microsoft which said XP compatible.

Is there something Im' missing here?

mine works ok in XP......even just using the standard XP drivers

sure it aint your mouse dying?
If you call up MS they will probably send you a replacement

after I upgraded to XP.
the back led light doesn't turn off. even when I leave it alone for a while, it might flicker off for about 1/2 second and then turn back on.
back in 98/2k, it would turn off after about 3seconds of idle.

but it still works perfectly (aside from that light thing that doesn't affect performance)

Well mine is hooked up to a powered hub... Does that matter?

And I just realized if I move the mouse around for about 30 seconds after it freezes it comes back

How annoying

maybe that 30 sec freeze is due to having no power......and it just takes that long to bring it back to life.

that may be a stretch...
