I read beofre when your intellimouse exploere starts to act up there is a way to call microsoft a they will send you a new one. how do i do this becuase one of my buttons acts up and it is driving me crazy????

I would like to know more about this as well... I have an Intellimouse USB Optical and I've noticed that it has problems under XP.. The mouse will stop responding at times. Sometimes moving the cable around will get it to work again, or unpluging and repluging. I hope this is just a software issue in my case, I'd hate to have to go through the trouble of having it replaced...

I just called microsoft tech support, they sent me a new mouse the same day. I got a new one the next; they didn't even want the old one back. Cannot remember the number but I found it hidden on the microsoft website.

Here's the number I called to get my new mouse, just told my mouse's numbers and problem, got a new one shortly.

Microsoft Support: 800-360-7561

I have the same problem. I have one of the first versions of the explorer optical, how long do you think the warranty lasts.

When I returned my optical mouse I just told them no matter what I did it didn't work properly.

They'll ask you "did you use USB", "did you use the PS2 adapter", blah blah blah.

Just act like you tried everything and it still acts the same way.

I just had a MS Intellimouse Optical die. I did the RMA online. I told them whenever I moved the cord it would turn on and off. After that, they just asked me for my shipping address. Today I got 2 Intellimouse Opticals! :| Can't anyone get this stuff right!?!?

Mine is starting to act up also. It works great, but at random times i'll hear the sound of a usb device being disconnected (2 dings...) then reconnected (2 different dings) and the mouse won't work for that second.. strange problem

I'm hoping they will give me a new one for a problem like that

sometimes the wheel on mine clicks down and changes my gun in counter strike, without me even touching it.
think they would send me a new one?

Does MS require any warranty information that may have or have not been sent in (have not in my case)? Also does the age matter, because mine died aproximately 2 years ago and I've just been using my old mouse?

That's exactly what happened to mine. The cord is probably bad. Turn the mouse over and play with the cord. I bet the light turns off and back on.
