Intell Pentium 4 Processor HELP

Im looking at putting a Dell Computer together through there site. And im not really sure what i need that would get the job done now. I want to become a gamer, download alot on the net. And surf fast. I will be gettin a DsL Connection.

Out of these two right here are they good what one would i need???

Intel ® Pentium® 4 Processor 2.8GHz w/533MHz FSB (if i get this one its 50 dollars less than the other one. But it dont say it has HT Technology?)

Pentium® 4 Processor with HT Technology 3.06GHz w/533MHz FSB

The second one costs 50 dollars more. But is suppose to be better. It has the HT Technology and is bigger in GHZ not much but is bigger.

I could get even better Pentium 4 Processors but do i really need one that is better what exactly does this do for my computer???

I know i dont know anything about computers but im trying and willing to learn.

What about 800 MHZ would that make much of a difference???

Pentium® 4 Processor with HT Technology 3.06GHz w/533MHz FSB is the only 533FSB p4 that uses HT

I would try to get a slower speed <2.4-2.6> P4 with the 800mhz FSB
ALL 800mhz fsb p4s have hyperthreading

I agree with Xenos. Get a 2.4/2.6/2.8 "C" model P4 with the 800Mhz bus.

Unless you are getting some sort of deal with the 533Mhz bus "B" model.
If you have to take a "B" , then get the 3.06 for the HT.

If you wanna game alot, you will get a much better deal building your own computer, but if you must go dell, go with an 800mhz, it will be much faster, and should work better for what you are wanting to do, even if it is slower (lower ghz)

Just make sure you don't buy one of the 2400 series with onboard video and no AGP slot!
