I'm Kinda a newbie with computers. I have a Gateway GM5260 with an Intel® (Love Valley P) P965 Viiv? motherboard, it's OEM and locked down pretty good. It had the core 2 duo E6300. I want to upgrade to the E6700, from what i have read i might need a BIOS upgrade but it looks like the E6700 should work.

I ran across an INTEL XEON DUAL CORE 3070 6700 DUO 2.66GH kinda in my price range. It looks like it is the same as the E6700 on the intel site best i can tell. There must be some difference, anyway does anyone know if would be worth trying to save a few bucks over the E6700? thanks

THANKS! Mr. Roguestar i appreciate you taking the time to reply......... I know nothing is 100% certain but i think i'm close enough to give it a try!!
