From what I've been hearing... not sure,... but, is Intel suppose to release a new version of this with the new trim capabilities on it like mentioned here?

Yeah, until the trim-capable drives are out, I'd avoid these drives. BTW, I <3 my Vertex drives. 🙂

this is not a hot deal.

be sure to watch out for warranty issues as well. oem/retail yadda
