intel x25-m 80gb raid 0 vs the 160gb version

As far as I know, there's no support for TRIM in raid 0 configs. However, would the fact that they're in raid 0 make them faster than a 160GB with trim after it's been used a lot?

Maybe, maybe not. That depends on a whole bunch of factors like how much the drives are used, how are the drives used, how often is drive maintenence performed. If all is the same I would say the raid would be faster in the end on a benchmark however in real world day to day computing you probably would not notice a huge difference.

Well on a TRIM enabled drive with trim active at the OS level nothing more than file deletion. Trim must be invoked to run and can be invoked by file deletion. On a raid config since trim cannot be used using a utility such as AS Cleaner to clean free space on the drive about once a week should do the trick.
