Intel X18-M

its okay. keep in mind they are 3.3v drives so hopefully it has a solid power regulator to convert 5V to 3.3v.

they are just as fast as x25-m G1.

but i had my hands on both X18-M 80/160 G2 and they are just as fast as the x25-m but cuter 🙂 hella fast.

make sure if you are doing a laptop that the 2.5" enclosure fits - many are too big thick.

I'm a fan of the X-18M especially in that kit. For $190, may as well get a G2 drive for $225 though. That being said, the G1 isn't a bad SSD by any means.

I bought this a couple of months back and threw it in my wife's laptop and she absolutely loves it.

IIRC the G1 handles fragmentation without TRIM better than the G2, and outperforms most Indilinx based drives in Random IOs (with TRIM) even when fragmented.

I replaced the 1.8" Toshiba drive in my HP 2730p tablet with the x18-m and that thing flies now of course it was the retail Intel x18-M G2 and I paid 400 bucks for it but it was worth every penny and just having to run the toolbox everynow and then you will see pretty much the same performance.
