Intel Wireless Mouse 24.99

With all due respect to Jokersmoker, the KING of DEALS, this is not a good deal at all. It requires the additional purchase of a base, both of which were being given away free a few months ago because Intel is getting out of the business of much of its periferal equipment.

I know this is the hot deals section but I have a thread in the for sale/trade for the mouse and base NIB shipped for $15. I think that's a hot deal.

These Intel wireless mice eat batteries like there's no tomorrow. A regular set of Duracell alkaline AAA's would last only 4 days or so, I've since switched to 550mAh Rayovac Nimh batteries and I still have to change the batteries every 4 days (bought 6 AAA Nimh's though so I always have a fresh set).

yea its a crappiest mouse ive ever used 😛
it runs out of battery every few days.

even Intel knwos about this problem, and they are getting rid of the bad designed mouse.

if u wanna go wireless for mouse, check out logitec or MS ones, read the reviews before buying.

Couldn't agree more Boogak. These Intel wireless mice are shamely power hungry. It seems Intel designers have really screwed up this time!!! I have had mine for over a year and the way I get around it is to take a middle battery out after I'm done using the computer. This way my mouse has been going for months instead of days on the same batteries. And this this what you'd gain for that inconvenience.

Guys, I get 3-4 months out of a set of regular AAA alkaline batteries (~3-4 hours per day of use & computer left on 24/7). I use the driver on the cd that came with the mouse and base. It has some kind of "sleep" mode. I tried letting windows recognize and install it's own driver and sure enough batteries only lasted about 4-5 days. The mouse is the best mouse I've ever used. I don't want to start a flame war, but the battery problem is driver related NOT a crappy designed product. That just my two pennies worth.

I think Rockon is right...my problem is that I'm using XP Pro and the drivers on the disk do not work for XP so you have dl the drivers from INTEL and I don't think they support the sleep mode because my mouse eats the batteries too!

Rockon.....my guess is that you're using win98 or ME...If you ARE using either Win2K or XP, please enlighten us on how you got the drivers to load. I had little success other than the "beta" drivers for Win2K. PS - I get about 8-10 days with an average of 1 hour PC time per day.
