I have an old VX Chipset motherboard (can't find any info on the actual mb, its from an NEC Ready 9702).
The chipset p/n is SB82437VX.
It looks like the motherboard has dual voltage planes (i.e. one jumper for "processor voltage" and another for "core voltage") and jumpers (i.e. clock dividers) for 200Mhz (currently has a P-166 in it).
Anyone have any info on this specific motherboard? redbeard1 already gave me a nice link to a site for upgrading VX chipsets. Very nice.
Also, how do I tell the memory on my 72-pin SIMMS for this thing? It has 2 Simms already (with 8 chips). Don't know if these are 16MB or 32MB (highly unlikely that they are 64MB, since these were pretty rare in their heyday).
Thanks for the help. I have a bunch of part numbers written down from this beast. If you need more info, either post it here, or send me a pm. Thanks!
