Why does Windows 7 create a small 100 MB System Reserved partition on them when doing a install ? Reason I ask is because it messes up the drive lettings in True Image when going to do a backup. Instead of my Operating System being C: drive in True Image it is D
 
It's not the SSD, it's something that Windows 7 does on the boot drive. I'm not sure what exactly does it, why, or if you can move it, unfortunately.
 
Whenever win7 setup format's the drive it add's that secondary parition, if you format it before running the install you wont have that partition added when you select leave as is.

What version of TI are you using? I upgraded to TI 2010 yesterday but have yet to create an image. The reason I ask is they claim TI 2010 fully supports Win 7.

FYI, I had the same thing happen when I used Symantec Ghost to image my Win7 drive when upgrading hard drives. When I restored the image, the drive lettering was fine, but the "Repair my Computer (Windows Recovery)" would not boot. I'm hoping TI 2010 resolves this issue.
 
AFAIK the partition is for bitlocker and boot info. As mentioned, if you manually create partitions before you hit next it won't create it.
