Intel SSD 330

Hello everyone,

Is Intel SSD 330 a good series, when compared to 530 or 730? On itself? Is 120USD a good price for Intel 330 240GB ?

It is not bad, it is slower than both 530 or 730, but if you are after Intel brand for reliability ..etc, it is not bad at all.

For day to day usage, you will not notice any noticable speed difference.

(If I remember correctly, Intel 330 uses better NAND than Intel 530 (25nm vs 20nm))

The Intel 330 is a great value when it is on sale. The issue is the 335 is Intel's current SSD for their entry level so no $120 USB is not a good price for 240GB 2 generations old. For reference sake's $145 for a PNY 480GB was the best price I've seen and that was only last month. At 240GB I believe you can get a current model Crucial for $90 when it is on sale.

Thank you for your answers! Unfortunately, I had already ordered the SSD. Got everything installed and see no point in returning it. Enjoying it really well. It's my first SSD, too. Installed W8.1 through UEFI. PC boots in 5secs to fully loaded desktop (not that it is of much significance to me)

you should have gone with mx100 or ultra ii. Cheaper, faster and more reliable (sandforce is shit; even with intel).

My intel 520 is faster than my samsung 840 pro so I don't bash the new sf controllers. The old 12xx were steaming piles of you know what but these new ones are very good.

I already got Intel 330 240gb SSD. Should have done more research before ordering. Ah well, at least it suits my needs. I will know better when making a new build some day. Thank you for your help, everyone.

Unless you have a shit sistem with 840pro, 520 is in no universe faster than 840pro

also then "New" sf2xxx were also shit, just not to such an extent (*cough* bsods *cough*)
