The few places that do list them are all "backordered" 3-6 weeks.

Why "launch" a product that has no competition when you don't have any to ship?

It does seem that a few trickled out to OEMs because there are a few servers and workstations out there, with 200% markups on hardware of course.

I would bet they were gobbled up by OEMs and the retail channel is slow to get stock because there is no need or push for them to do so. As you said, without competition, why rush them out?
