I'm pretty interested in this feature. I currently have an intel 320 120GB SSD paired with a 500GB. But its kind of a cumbersome setup, it isn't always obvious which applications I am going to use the most and if I install the OS onto it a ton of space is wasted right at the start on things I don't really use. Nevermind that even after installing applications to the secondary disk they often sneakily start storing data and profiles onto the C: drive and eat up space. Managing this is just a pointless chore.
I was waiting for some 240-250GB to get down to $0.50/GB but it now seems like prices are going in the other direction. Regardless I still might get situations where that wasn't enough space given how large software is now. So the SRT sounds like an interesting option since it will basically do most of the grunt work for me. I only have a H67 chipset motherboard though so I would have to upgrade that. Since this is really just a software solution from what I could tell I thought there would be alternatives but it doesn't really seem like it.
I read TRIM is not supported in this configuration. Is that a big deal with the SSD I have? I'd obviously use the 64GB max cache size along with whatever was left as a pure SSD space. But do I need trim? I'm running Windows 7 64.
