First just let me say that was one of my points. I play online games so I don't care who has the fastest CPU.
Online gaming is more about connection speeds and cheat codes lol.
The connection is the bottle neck but hardly any reviewers say oh by way a P4 2.4 400FSB is just as fast as a 570j 1066FSB do they..
Unless you do a lan party or tourny it really doesn't matter does it.
As a matter of fact I have talked many people out of buying high dollar pc's for online gaming and that cost me money.
I let them play online with state of the art components than I give them something slower and there amazed that there's know differance My wife loves that. We have eaten a lot of good meals with happy customers.

Both were celeron systems, 2.2 Ghz 40 gig hard drives, both work and she had monitors to. duh

Well, I'm glad, eventually they may even stop calling you a troll just cause of it.

Its kind of like traffic, you don't go driving down the yellow emergency lane in heavy traffic do you? It pisses others off even more than some other things they don't like. Same with spelling and holding views opposite to theirs (fanboys on either side), it just makes them even more meaner/determined.

I hate video cards with as much memory as my PC :(

Luckily I don't have e-penis size envy :)

I'd say ATi with Dual GPU (Have a ATi Rage Fury MAXX), and nVidia with 512MB. Ain't that down the middle :p

Went and took a look at the worlds fastest gaming PC . IT is sweet. Looks to me couldn't see real good but I believe its based on the Asus NCT-D
MAN i told you guys those boards are fast. Of course they have been modified to be even faster. Wonder when the Xeon 3.8 ARE GOING TO BE OUT. ACCORDING TO THE WHITE PAPERS THESE ARE REALLY GOING TO BE SPECIAL . Man I am so excited I could just crap . I was't expecting this till FEd . or March so that means Intel closes out 2004. King of the Mountain no.1 the big dog EAT CROW AMD FX55 and there players I hope you didn't through your money away LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

When a single proc gaming system meets or beats a dual proc one that costs more, uses more expesive ram and parts, you tell me who is throwing away money.

before everybody gets their hopes up, remember that nvidia just signed the cross-licencing agreement today, so it's not like these systems are gonna show up tomorrow. They are AIMING for the end of Q2 2005, but I'm sure it will be delayed just like everything else. After all, nvidia hasn't designed a memory controller since nforce2, and they've never done a DDR2 controller, so there are bound to be some delays.

BTW, Zinn2b, what the hell are you talking about? Calling a modified server platform the king of the gaming hill is just a little bit unfair, don't you think? If you really want to compare apples to apples, why don't you compare the fastest P4EE to the FX-55, or the newest Xeon 2P (3.6, btw, 3.8 hasn't even been paperlaunched for the Xeon yet, let alone actually launched) to the Opteron 250 (oh, and there is a dual opteron nforce4 SLI board on the way, BTW), and see who wins those contests. An SLI FX-55 would perform just as well as the Alienware you're talking about, for about 1/2 the price. Come on, Alienware's $6200 workstation does not qualify as the best gamer system. If Intel were really the king of the hill in its server processor department, why do you think that Dell is considering AMD in the Server/Workstation/Gaming department, precisely those areas which use Xeons/P4EEs as their basis? Netburst is a bad architecture, which is why they are axing it in favor of the P6 architecture, and an extra 200MHz is not gonna magically turn a crappy architecture into a good one. Besides, the A64 scales better, anyways, especially in multi-CPU systems due to Hypertransport, so the Opteron 252 will just widen the gap further. I really don't see how you can possibly spin this scenario into one in which Intel is ahead in the high-end gaming department, when every single review I've ever seen comparing the P4 versus A64 in gaming states pretty clearly that AMD is ahead both in terms of performance/price and top performance.

Zinn who do you work for? I wanna know so I can avoid purchasing products from a vendor that employees complete idiots to build their systems. The level of ineptitude you spew forth is incredible. In fact I am going to go so far as to say you have never built a system in your life. You wouldn't know an IRQ address if it came into your room at night, woke you up out of your fire-truck bed and offered you a mustache ride.

Maybe wake up from the Intel induced wet dream you are in?

Ah well. Back to topic.

I have mixed feelings about the Intel Nvidia cross. Makes me wary of what Nvidia's plans for the future are. I suppose we will have to wait and see. Hopefully, as a few others have said, it will drive competition and in that case we all win!
