Anyone know anything about if intel is making a server chip based on Cor 2 Duo?

I need to be some new servers in the 6months and really do not want to use Xeon. Ill get AMD if nothing new is out.

thx

They already released it. Woodcrest Xeons (they kept the same name, so you will have to get Xeons - but they are based on the same architecture as Core 2 Duo). I think they are currently up to 2P at the moment (dual core x2, so quad at the most), FB-DIMM etc.

Xeon 5100-series "Woodcrest"
