The great thing about knowing someone who works at Intel is I get a shot at a few of these this time of the year. I've always passed but will probably buy one, the higher end one preferably.
 
I've got enough to qualify for the "Stellar"...I guess the processor upgrade is worth the extra $30.
Whether or not i'll keep the motherboard is another question.
 
I gotta say I am not that excited about the motherboard myself. But the processor in the Stellar package is nothing to ignore!
 
Yikes! I just looked up the Mobo. This will not work for me at all. I was planning on using it for a htpc upgrade and I currently need at least 3 pci slots or I'll have to buy new tuners... hmm....
 
Is this only one per employee? Or is it possible to order multiple combos with the proper number of points?

Yeah, confirmed one combo per person. I had a friend sign up for me, he's a BB employee. Completed all the available points today: 7600. Anyone know how many they release a month? It'd be nice to get this combo ordered before December.
 
I know there is a quiz and a challenge which come out to about 1250 total. Then there are the articles in the toolbox which when you read and review them can give you some extra points. There is also the daily visits to the website which can give you some 100-300 I think in extra points just for checking the website daily. It does cap at like 300 I believe for the month.
 
Last year I ended up using the motherboard and I don't mind it too much. This year I think I'm just going to plop the processor in and get rid of the rest or maybe build a cheap budget system for one of the family members.
 
I bought the one they had last year. It's working great and I dont see a need to upgrade yet.

My account still works, but I'm no longer a retail employee. Do you think they actually verify all of the purchases?
 
About 1k, but seeing that it is the end of the year, your Intel rep might be nice and give some people who joined in late a voucher for an extra 1k points or so.

yeah, i think most people would do fine with a dual core. i bought the bundle last november, then in march i got a gateway open box that had 250GB hdd, dvdrw, 1gb ram, e6300, xp mce w/ vista upgrade for less than $250. popped in 2 more gigs of ram, another hdd, and a hdtv tuner. i switched over my gaming to console, so my desktop just gets used as a media server and internet hub.

so i sold the proc/mobo from the bundle. i never used the 2 copies of vista. they are sitting in a pile somewhere. if anyone is interested in them, im looking for 360 stuff for trade 🙂

i think quad might be going beyond what i need.
 
I did enough quizzes this year early on to be qualified for the Q6700 bundle a month ago.

Now i just hope i can order it fast enough tomorrow before they're all gone.

I have yet to hear a retail edge promo being sold out.
 
Oh, the Q6600 bundle they have tons of.

But i want the Q6700 bundle, which is stated as limited quantities, first come, first serve kinda deal.

They typically post new quizzes the first week of the month

1,000 points for the monthly challenge module
250 point for the article quiz
400 point for viewing or downloading 2 sales/technical materials. (Toolbox section)
