Intel Raid 1 - Removing a disk

Hi,

If I enable a mirror RAID 1 using the Intel Raid software on my Asus mother is it possible to remove one of the drives without it affecting the other one? Is there a process I have go through? I know there's a way to do it in Windows 8 but not sure about the Intel Raid method. Thank you.

Not familiar with Intel's implementation but with any RAID 1 array removing a disk will put the array into a Degraded state. Replacing the drive, either the original or a replacement will either prompt the user to perform or start on it's own a ReSynch process so that both drives contain the exact same data.
