This one's been kicking around in Hot Deals for a few weeks...surprised it's still going on.

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2118851&highlight=q8300

i think the hot deals forum is down. every time i try to access it i get the following message:

OBLAMA2009, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

hmmm i wonder whats up with that....

2.5 ghz is really slow, they have the e7500 for the same price, which might be better for most people, for anyone still into 775

Pardon me if I've mistaken you for someone else, but...
I'm pretty sure it's because you would post deals with "Please Comment" and then continuously bump them asking for comments or something like that. Whoever that was, it was annoying. Then again, I assume banning you from a particular forum would only prevent you from posting, not reading. See if you can access it while not logged in to your account.

Typically, forum bans do not allow viewing or posting.

well I think this is more of MC's doing than Intel's, these quads are never intended by Intel to sell at this price point, on other hand, the MSRP of an x4 is at 100 set by amd.

for $89 or less you can also get the pentium 6800. if i were in the 775 market i think id prefer that over the e7500 or the q8300...

is anyone else concerned about the first amendment???

It would be one thing if the govt came in and took your printing press, but in this case, it's just a private third party choosing not to let you use their printing press. Get your own, in this case.

I am VERY concerned about the first amendment, it and the second amendment, and the fourth and fifth and eighth and ninth and tenth amendment are being ripped to shreds daily.

But this has absolutely nothing with your right to freedom of speech. You have the freedom of speech, and other private citizens have a right to boot you off their PRIVATE PROPERTY for ANY reason they want, including your speech upsetting them. I don't have the right to forcibly remain in your house to "speak" if you tell me to get lost, it is your private property. You don't have the right to remain in the private property of anand lal shimpi (the owner of anandtech) if he, or his proxy (moderators) tell you not to. Now, they aren't telling you to get lost YET, they are telling you to zip it or they will tell you to get lost. And its their right because its their private property, and your rights are not violated in any way by it.

Now if a cop was silencing you in public property (anything paid for by the government) OR if he was silencing you in private property where the owner has given you permission, then your first amendment right would be violated. (if the owner told you to zip it or beat it and you refuse, he will call the cops and the copes will remove you forcibly from his property, and it will not be a violation of your first amendment rights).

Finally, I don't know if this website is hosted in the united states, but it might not be, out of curiosity, have you checked or do you just assume the entire internet obeys US law? you do realize it is perfectly possible for it to be located elsewhere? the internet is rather international. (although, local laws do apply, every website on the internet is beholden to the laws of the country in which it is physically hosted, and every other country can and often do block undesirable sites)

Oh noes, eye have teh ban, call da lawyahs.

it looks like they just caved and unbanned me from hot deals. apparently the email from my bahamian attorney worked....long live the first amendment and free speech!!!! (although im a little disappointed, i was looking forward to renaming the site "oblamatech") anyway thanks everyone for your support. i promise ill make it up to you all with lots of great hot deal posts!!!

The first time we ban you from a particular sub-forum isn't necessarily a perma-ban from that forum. It's amazing that it took you that long to figure out you were banned from that area. -Admin DrPizza
