Intel Q6600 and E2160: Same cooler?

Just curious: I had bought an Intel Pentium E2160 for one of my machines about 2 months ago. In this build, I ended up going with a very large Thermaltake aftermarket heatsink + a low noise 92mm fan. Wanted to keep that computer quiet. As a result I have the original OEM cooler that came with the E2160 still sitting in the box.

So, now I'm looking at a Core 2 Quad Q6600 for my other machine (replacing it's aging Sempron 3400). Fan noise isn't as much of an issue on this one, so I figure OEM cooler is fine (no overclocking), but was just wondering: are the OEM coolers provided with the two chips the same? If so, I'll go with the cheaper OEM version of the chip and just reuse that cooler.

They are not the same, the E2160 typicaly has an all alu smaller HSF that the quad, the quad comes w/ a larger HSF that has a copper base.

If you did this the other way around, the heatsink would be great, but the E2XXX and E4XXX comes with a tiny little aluminum heatsink, while the Q6600's is made of copper. You can just get a POS $10 cooler to go along with it...

Have you also taken into account the warranty for the cpu? OEM carries 30days w/ whomever you buy it from (typically) while retail carries a 3yr warr. The risk of failure is vary small, but something to consider.
