Intel price drops

I know they are coming from Intel on 22nd April, but when will the end up affecting the prices we see on places like Newegg etc? Will they drop around the same time, or will Newegg try and sell of inventory at the old prices before they drop their prices to the new ones from Intel?

The prices in the retail channel most likely won't drop until they've sold the inventory they have, at the prices they're selling for now. Places that sell a high volume might have the new prices in as little as a week after the price drop. That's all just a guess, of course. Intel hasn't contacted me as to whether or not they're making arrangements to offer refunds to retailers on the chips they've paid more for.😉

Prices in the USA come into effect usually within 1 or 2 days of the pricing adjustment, don't expect the price to fall too the lower levels completely you still have to factor in the fact these are prices for Quantities of 1000 so the prices will be close but slightly higher, like a E6700 could be 330-340 when the price drops first come into effect while the official price is $316 and stabilize to lower levels over time.
