INTEL price cut

When? I have been hearing news that it might be either in Aug 26-28 or Sept 30. Can anyone confirm that?

The talk was september 1st or around there...to be in conjunction with the release of the 2.8 and 2.66ghz p4's....

Also it apperas it has already begun...The 2.53ghz has aleady dropped 100 dollars since 2 weeks ago....The 2.53ghz should bottom out at 270 or so retail....with the 2.4ghz right around 200 and 2.26ghz close to that....1.8's will drop to those 1.6 prices of 3 months ago and ofcourse the 1.6's are gone...

Not to start a flame war, and I love the power the P4 offers in video encoding, BUT seriously...

$200 for what AMD can provide for $100?

No thanks 🙂 Except in my video encoding system...but I'm actually steering toward dual 1600+ for that.

When the 2.53 drops to $250 .... amd cant top that ... there flagshit Retail is $240 (2200+ 1.8GHz) ... and that with a i845G DDR333 cas2, there is no stoping that cheap insainly fast setup.

Acually the 2400+ is launching in october ... thats about 2 monthes after the 2.8/2.66 launch.
