I ordered a PIII 1ghz 100 fsb Fcpga from Compgeeks last week and it arrived today. The chip they sent was a PIII 900/256/100/1.75V with an sspec of SL5BS. The chip should have an sspec of SL5QV (others at hot deals have ordered this chip with indeed an sspec of SL5QV). I have sent Compgeeks an email about his problem but have not heard back. What is strange is that on Intels sspec sheet for the PIII there is NO SL5BS and I cannot find it on there updated errata sheets. Does anybody know what this chip really is? Thanks

That is a bad deal for you but you may have got a better OC'r to a 133MHz bus with that cDO 900e. I was wondering if they were going to make these. Very nice and you should hit 133 very easily with that chip and maybe better! I wouldn't be too pissed but maybe try and get some cash from them for their mistake as a 145MHz bus with that chip would be much better than a 130~133MHz bus with a 10x multi on the 1000e cDO. Get my drift? Well that if you are a FPS orientated person.

I checked intels sspec and indeed they do not have that chip on the sspec sheet

I suspect that they sent you that cpu as they're out of stock of the 1GHz 100fsb & are unable to get any more from Intel!
production ceased at the ending of last year. :(

Sorry to hear that. They just posted the same chip the other day after shipping my order.
Just ask them to do a cross-ship. It's not your fault anyway.

Compgeeks is going to send me a shipping label so I can send the PIII 900 back and they will send me the right chip (PIII 1ghz). I am already running a PIII 900mhz (100fsb) that I got from tigerdirect a year or so ago and have had it up to 124mhz fsb. I will post some sandrta numbers from both chips when I get the 1ghz. PIII 900mhz is running on a bf6 with no problems.
