I have the exact same one (SL5CK) that I used to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 4100.

I don't see why not.

I have T21 too, why don't u try it and let me know. :) But seriously, T21 runs at 100 FSB and this runs at 133, so I don't think it will work.

Summary:
With a simple adapter, Intel's Pentium M processor can be used on veteran mainboards based on the i865 and i875 chipsets. Would you believe that this unorthodox combination proves to be so fast that it beats even the Athlon 64 FX and the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition?!

And if I remember right, I thought there were mods that let you skip the adapter on some motherboards too... hmm

bad bearxor... bad...

this isn't a pentium m. it's not socket 478 either. it's socket 370.

these may be 478, but I doubt you cna plug a p3 478, into a p4 478 motherboard. If anyone can tell otherwise, please post. Otherwise if you're buying this to plug into a P4 mobo, don't, you'll probably ruin one, the other, or possibly both.

i fear this as well, im checking around online to see if anybody knows, or if there is specific motherboard compatability for this processor. so if i find anything, ill report back, i would love if anybody else will leave back info if they find anything out also.

or maybe they are wrong as well.

interesting.

anyway, even if it physically fits (which it might not) it doesn't have the electrical signalling required of the quad pumped bus for the socket 478 pentium 4s. pentium 3s used single pumped busses

I would like to know as well. I have couple of old boards gathering dust and would love to put them to a good use.

zeroidea is correct. The most simple "proof" is that the processors pinouts are totally different. If you want confirmation, check page 68 in the Mobile Pentium III datasheet, page 57 in the Pentium M datasheet and page 40 in the Pentium 4 datasheet. The Mobile Pentium III is keyed like the Pentium M, so it won't fit in a desktop board, and won't work on a Pentium M mobile board.

Why would anyone assume a Mobile P3 would work on a P4 board? That's pretty silly.
