Intel Pentium Celeron

superghz

My brother bought a computer and thought it processor was a Pentium IV 2.80 Ghz
Now after we received it and it is a Celeron 2.8ghz processor.

The seller stated it as an "Intel Pentium 2.80 Ghz"?
We assumed it is a Pentium 4.
Now the seller claim it is a Pentium 4 based Celeron 2.8ghz processor

Now my question is is there such thing called "Pentium Celeron" 2.8ghz?
I thought the processor is either called Pentium or Celeron.

EDIT: Yes, all Celerons are Pentium 4 Based.

But unless he specifically stated 'Celeron' in the specs, you still got ripped off.

No, no, no, there is no Pentium Celeron, you just got ripped off. Demand your money back ASAP. Celeron are pieces of sh*t, I don't know where you bought it from but do something fast.

did u buy the comp off an auction or the like. if so i would guess you are sol. they always say screw me once shame on you screw me twice shame on me. in other words it sounds like you learned your lesson and will exercise greater caution next time. maybe you could link us to the description where you purchased the computer, but to answer you question there is no pentium 4 celeron. although, the celeron is built on the netburst architexture but with a stripped cache and fsb.
