Although probably inflated, those increases are not modest. The gaming figures especially being interesting as its around a 15% increase in clockspeed, so a 15% bump is expected, but 40% indicates greatly increased IPC coming from somewhere.

Another 40% in video encoding is also a very nice deal!!

Im wondering where barcelona is going to land against Intel 45nm.

Im hoping that is the case now as well, but im always skeptical until someone outside of Intel is giving numbers in real applications.

Intel said Conroe is 40% faster than P4 and eats 40% less power and they are right. I hope they are right for Penryn this time.
