you dont get both ~ you only get 1 or the other depending on cpu.

(could be wrong but might wanna look into it)

with a 133FSB CPU you get all the mem ratio with 100FSB you only get 2 ratios

if you have a 133FSB CPU i would go with Albatron PX845PEV PRO
2.4B (18X133) right?

one stick of mem will be EZer to overclock
Antec 430W True Power will be good

I would go with the Albatron board with extra features. I'm not sure the model number, but NewEgg has it in stock. It's like $120, and it has more features if you need them.

nah...albatron lacks the additional Raid channel and it doesnt has the IEEE. The silver PCB does appeal but i am an Epox fan and like their boards...

Albatron would be #2 on my list but it doesnt has enough juice for me to make it #1.....i might try it though if the epox fails me but i highly doubt that....
I hope that Kingston PC3000 HyperX memory will be enough ?

I've been trying to purchase the EPOX 4PEA+ for a while now, but it's sold out in every online store. Mwave seems to not carry it anymore as well. Any auggestions?

In NEWEGG, how come the EPOX 4PEA+ looks different compared to the illustrated motherboard on EPOX website??

EPoX has shipped several versions. With and without the chipset fan and with and without the round cables. I believe the newegg pic is current as it looks exactly like the one I got from mwave.com a week and a half ago.

Looks as if Directron still has some. At least their website shows them currently in stock. www.directron.com/4pea.html

I have never bought from Directron but their rating at www.resellerratings.com/seller2114.html looks ok to me.

I popped off the chipset heatsink and cleaned the bubble gum like thermal adhesive off and replaced it with Arctic Silver 3. Alcohol and nail polish remover would not clean it off. I sprayed a little CRC BrakeClean (original formula - not the newer environmentally friendly version) on a Q-Tip and it cleaned it right off. BrakeClean leaves absolutely no residue (you cannot have residue on brake pads or the rotors, not even one greasy finger print!) and BrakeClean dries very quick. Worked great, no problems whatsoever! I had never read about anyone else trying BrakeClean before, maybe a first.

The only thing that bothers me is the EPoX's slow/lack of BIOS updates and the fact that EPoX will not be providing their own support in the US and Canada effective March 1st 2003. http://www.northgate.com evidently will be providing support. Quality and performance wise I would buy again in a heartbeat. But the uncertainty of future customer service (BIOS update is my number one concern) here in the US will definitely affect my future MB purchases. Seriously, my next MB purchase might be one with the fewest onboard "features" I can find. I think I would prefer to be able to add all of my own and not have to disable all the onboard "features" in the BIOS. Remember when we could buy a motherboard without onboard sound, it was not long ago at all.

I got my 4PEA+ from Directron.... no NB cooler, no rounded cables. (sucks) they are a good company, I'd likely buy from them again (more so if i lived in the US)

I love the 4PEA+ .. I'd recommend it, it does have the 3:4 divider in the BIOS... It is a newer BIOS though, not the initial release BIOS.
