You people have some crazy temps, but then again, your processors are like a million times better than mine. Anyways, P4 Celeron 17.@2.06 Idle: CPU/NB : 21/23, 100%Load: 39/28.

I have two 80mm intake fans in the front of my case, a Zalman intake fan on the side (its a video card fan, I think I bought it becasue of its little noise but, I'm nuts) and a Thermaltake Smart Case Fan 2 as an exhaust for the CPU only which is regulated by the thermal sensor that came with it. I put the sensor between the fins of my CPU's heatsink. The problem with the sensor is that it increases the speed of my fan after it starts to get hot. If I controlled the speed of the fan (and put it on max), not only would it sound like a damn hair dryer, my Load temp would be a few degrees cooler. Also, those temps are cool because of the cheap ducting job I did. Long story short, I reversed the CPU's fan to blow air away from it into a tube I made out of a 2L coke bottle where the hot air is directly exhausted from my system by the Thermaltake fan. If you saw it, you'd laugh, but hey, it works.

P4 2.4B @ 2.7GHz w/stock Intel heatsink/fan (thermal pad) and 2 Antec case fans

28-32C Idle
46-50C Load

System temperature stays ~30C

On days when the ambient temp is exceptionally hot, these numbers go up by 2-3 degrees.

2.6c @ 3.2
Idle 30-32c
Load 55c
The load temp will probably drop a little once the Arctic Silver settles.

Intel P4 2.4C @ 3.2 with Zalman 7000Cu
Idle: 42
Load: 60
Case temp: 38
The mobo is Abit IS7-G, so the real temps are probably about 10 degrees lower

i just switched to this CoolerMaster and then added a 92mm enermax fan - ~3000rpm=60+cfm and my temps are now 36-37C idle, case 32C and full load is <50C. i had to get a 70->92mm adapter and use the old 70mm fan body as a spacer so it is kind of a pain in the @$$ to use this setup, but it did drop my temps pretty good.

Intel P4 2.8C Stock with Zalman 7000AlCu
Idle: 44C
Case: 30C

Abit IC7 -- hopefully that temp is at least 5C high?

This was 3 minutes after the first bootup... 4 hours later my CPU or mobo was dead so no solid numbers after AS5 set in.

:(

My temps seem a little on the high side...any tips appreciated

you have big problems. that should be around 30c idle and 40c load with that heatsink. My prescott at 3.6ghz with an slk-900 and 2500rpm fan never went above 50C with 100% load. My 3.2EE @ 3.7ghz with the sp-94 idles around 34C and hits 42C max under full load.

Idles at 34C!?..*whoa*..I just changed heatsinks to a Swiftech MCX-478V with a 92mm SilenX fan (9dB)and some AS5. I got my CPU temp down to 41C idle now. Wonder what I'm doing wrong...hmm...mind telling me what your using with theSP-94?

TIA

two things. first I am using an enermax adjustable 92mm fan @2500rpm. second, as5 can cause big problems. If it is not applied exactly right it can cause your temps to be much higher than they should be. I recommed either as3 if you can still find some or ceramique if not. I have as3 on there now.

well I actually hadn't seen an idle temp in quite a while(run 2 instances of seti 24/7), so I thought it was 34C. I just turned off both seti programs and let the computer sit for 15minutes while I browsed the web. It is now at 30C while I type this ;)

Come on guys.....this poll is pointless. It needs to be broken down my MB. Asus under-temps and Abit way over-temps. Abit can actually over-temp by up to 20C (at load). I'll try to find the article one day, but there is a much bigger difference than just a standard ~5C. Asus on the other hand under-temps actual temps.

Should have been done "Intel P4 CPU on Abit MB Temp Poll"
and "Intel P4 CPU on Asus MB Temp Poll"

This assuming that everyone is still using the 2 best 875 boards out.

P.S.

Idle: 39C
Load: 53C
