Intel P4 2.66B cpu overheating BEEPING problem

Hi there, I have an Intel p4 2.66b cpu, MSI 850E Max motherboard and I seem to have a problem with overheating. When i run the 3dmark 2003 program and do the CPU testing, it starts beeping after a couple of seconds, and the beeping gets louder and faster. Does anyone know why this is happening? A friend of mine has a 2.4 and this does not happen to his at all. He never gets any beeping. The fan is the retail fan that comes with the cpu. Please help, thanks in advance.
