I've read on Intel S-Specs page that all (new) P3 cpus 600 and above with cC0 steping
need a:
"9. Vcc Core Voltage - 1.70 V/Requires a motherboard with a split plane for the Vcc"
What is the split plane?
How do I know if my mobo has it?
I have an older BX mobo 6163Pro+cel 300, I wanted to upgrade to a p3 700E, since I can not order specific steping how can I make sure it will work (with slotket 2 )?

I have a BE6-2 with a P3-700 cbo stepping. I think my board is about the
same generation as yours. If you get a Cco step you may have to run it at
1.7 instead of 1.65. You can probably do that from the Bios. I have mine
running at 1.85 for stability. Check my signature.

split plane voltage refers to the different voltages supplied to the IO & cpu ,IO is usually 3.3v

That requirement should be there for all P3's, split plane voltages have been around since the days of the Pentium MMX.

I/0 is 3.3V, & the CPU is lower; in this case 1.70V.

I wouldn't worry about it, any motherboard that supports P3's should be fine.
