Let me know what cpu you are running.

EDIT: If your running more than one cpu than just vote for the one you prefer. This is not "flame bait." I am simply curious as to which brand people prefer!

You need an option for BOTH, since many of us run a number of computers.

I agree. I couldn't vote because I have both across several machines. Also, you don't have representation for other CPU companies besides AMD/Intel. Why is that? I still have two VIA C3 chips.

OMFG, learn to use the fvck'n search button. There has to be a million of these dam threads by now.

But to answer your question, and to go along with the pole results AMD FTW!!! (like in my sig).

Are you happy now? I wouldn't really consider this a flame bait since the majority if not all anandtech members (except one person, dam can't remember who) would recommend AMD for a new build.

Right now I'm running Athlon64, and I think that AMD makes the best proc right now. However, my cpu before that was a P4 Northwood which was fantastic. Coupled with an i865 motherboard, that setup was more stable than any of the AMD chips I owned prior (AthlonXP, T-bird, and K6-II).

this is a pro AMD forum.

a majority are going to say AMD.

try this poll over on an intel forum (if it exists) and the results would be vastly different

IMHO, this poll is pointless.

Well hot dang, this is the last time i try and just get some opinions on CPU's. I was thinking if i posted a topic, i would here what people think of CPU's but all im gettin is some people sayin i should search other posts. Well if you dont like the question im asking, why the heck did you bother answering??? Usually if something annoys me then i say away from it, but you decide to read away, vote in the poll and even post. Gee ur a bright spark!

Currently, an AMD X2 3800+, running at stock speeds..

I limit my CPU purchases to $400 or less.. I'm neither an Intel or an AMD fanboy. I tend to run the best bang for my buck... Whenever Intel comes up with a CPU that meets my financial requirements, and performs well, they will get my business. My last Intel CPU was a P4 2.0Ghz Northwood.. At the time of purchase, it was a kick-butt CPU. Times have changed, and until then AMD will get my business.

"AMD or Outel" threads need to be banned. theres enough of them already that a search will give you more then you would ever want to read.
