For the most part Intel, but AMD have been gaining some ground lately with their higher end models

Intel !!!

Intel have always had an edge in audio and video editing, encoding, authoring, etc and the dual-core continue that fine tradition. In fact the EE 840 is the speediest chip you could use for such work !!!

Actually, in all honesty the current line of P4's beat the current line of single core AMDs in this, but for dual core i dunno.

i'm an intel user, i use xeon 3.06 dual for my adobe work.. but i never knew why intel is better ? what does adobe use that makes intel better ? anyone know ?

i never tried with amd option because back then, there wasn't any dual options..

AMD x2 4200 = $579

Really Dothan, stop being such a fanboy, the 4200+ has a much better price/performence than the p4EE, and it beats it in gaming and most tests, except heavy multi-tasking, and even that's by a small margin.
