New revision (which comes with BadAxe2) 975X is the solid, versatile, and more than anything the most stable chipset for Intel desktop CPUs from what I'm hearing.

According to this article over a Daily Tech (July 18, 2006), Intel doesn't have a replacement for 975 on their roadmap thru the first half of this year. I couldn't find anything more recent at DT.

Noticeably gone from the roadmap is a replacement for the Intel D975XBX Bad Axe 2. This is most likely because Intel will not be replacing the current 975X Express chipset with a Bearlake variant.

its the x38 or whtaever. wont be out until the p35 g35 and such in the fall.

the ich7 era chipsets are holding up find, though the ich8 chipset (g965/q965/p965) are a bit faster at some tihngs.

intel even reincarnated the 945gz as the 946gz with a die shrink. plus the older chipsets use less power.
