do changing to the latest INF drivers efect performance as much as the VIA 4-in-1's? What is the latest INF driver (i have the 815ep chipset)? also, where do i download these from? What is the best performing inf driver?
 
No, as a matter of fact, changing versions of Intel Chipset inf drivers do not make any changes or improvements to performance.

As long as you have an inf driver version that actually supports your chipset, you system will be running at top performance. Sometimes minor changes are made to the recognition and identification of devices, but the inf drivers do not include IDE and AGPGART VXDs like the VIA 4-in-1 drivers.
