Can anyone tell me when/if the 82801ER will support raid 1/mirroring?
Currently it is limited to raid 0/striping

My motherboard is a MSI Neo 875p with bios version 1.4

Thanks!

Hopefully that is not correct.

I just found this piece of text in anandtechs canterwood review.

The feature set of ICH5R is identical to that of ICH5 but with one exception, RAID 0 support. The ICH5R also has RAID 1 support but that will require a driver/BIOS update in order to enable the support; we're expecting the update within the next month or so. There's nothing too special about Intel's RAID 0 support, but do keep in mind that the RAID only applies to the two Serial ATA channels on the motherboard, not the Parallel ATA channels.

Hopefully it will be released soonish.

Well, you've only got RAID-0 for now. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting on a BIOS update.

Hehe of course not. I'm using the promise 378 controller for raid 1 atm, but am experiencing some weird things with my files (apparent corruption that chkdsk can't see) and besides I'm bandwidth limited by the PCI bus that the promise controller is connected to.

Best regards
