Question Intel i9 14900k to me huge difference in bootup of all my programs at startup compared to 12th generation

They basically load instantly instead of taking 5 to 15 seconds. May not seem like a lot but if your waiting to do something quick it adds up after so many restarts.

The i9 14900k can bring noticeable bootup improvement over the 12th gen, especially for programs heavily reliant on single-core performance. Its faster clock speeds and improved architecture can shave off seconds, though the exact difference depends on your specific setup and software used.

However, the overall impact might not be huge unless you regularly work with demanding applications at startup. For everyday tasks, the boot time difference might be less noticeable.

I’d be surprised if the difference wasn’t mostly from motherboard / BIOS. Also why are you restarting so much?
This. My 10 year old build used to take well above a minute to restart. I replaced my asus mobo (asus maximus IV extreme) with a gigabyte (Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H), and now it boots almost instantly (like 15 seconds) although it is an old build. It seems gigabyte is better with boot times.

Replaced my AMD 4650G on Win10 with AMD 5700G on Win 11. Same PC, just swap CPU's and did a fresh Win 11 install. Went from 6s startup to desktop to more than 20s. :rage:🤬

Nope, haven't changed a thing, no fast start. But yeah, Win11 is not as lean as Win10, that I have accepted. I managed to get it lower, but it never got back to those 6s... Alas, I have enough CPU grunt to last me into 2025 if I'm not droolin over some 9xxxG series, so if Win12 will need some fancy AI CPU, will wait and see if that translates into something usefull, or just some unnecessary bling.
