Intel I865 SATA Raid vs 3Ware Parallel ATA Raid. Which is better?

I had posted this in peripherals but realized it probably belongs here...

I'm looking to upgrade my raid array with more storage. It's currently a raid 0 mirror on an older 3ware udma66 raid controller.

The 3ware has a processor and does all the work instead of the cpu. Does the Intel SATA controller do this? If not how badly will SATA drag my system down (Asus p4p800 and P4 2.53@2.8) with intensive disk dma?

Am I better off just getting a couple of bigger hard Pata drives or is SATA something special?

Thanks NFS4,
Took a look at the report, looks like SATA Raid0 is the way to go.
Those Maxtor 160gb drives for $139 each at Newegg look like my best way to go.
