Just got mine today, was a deal just too good to pass up. With a x58 mb/ram combo on the egg, i now have a very nice system upgrade for very little.

I picked mine up no hassle - no pressure to buy anything. The way it works is I order the item and then 10 minutes later I get an email saying the item is ready for pickup. I print out the email, drive to the store, head directly to a special desk which handles in store pickup, show my receipt and they look in a shelf directly behind them to retrieve my item. They print out a store receipt, ask me to sign, give my bag, I leave.

They didn't even ask me if I wanted to shop around first - since typically if you plan to buy something else or shop around ins tore you do that first then go to pickup desk and pay for additional stuff while you pickup

We have no Micro Centers down here in the Nashville TN area, but back in July we were in the St. Louis area and I picked up a 930 for $199. Of course, I went on to spend an additional $800 on stuff to build a new machine. There was no pressure from the salesman, but surrounded by such computer goodness it is difficult to stop spending. I got such a good deal on the heatsink, processor and case, that it made the total price just about the same as it would have been ordering from Newegg. Ordering online is usually the way to go, but being able to browse and handle the merchandise is very nice.

At least $100 more, new socket thats not LGA-2011.... This will tide me over till this time next year when the LGA-2011 stuff comes out, which is really what I want.

Are there any decent motherboards which support this processors with good overlocking for around $100? Cheapest I'm finding are north of $150.

Huh? Look around, it isn't the normal price.

It is for Micro Center. Before the 950, the 930 was this price. Before the 930, the 920 was this price. "Was this price" means being on sale at $199.99 for a few months, being around $230 for a couple weeks, and then being $199.99 again for a few more months. Or something like that.
