This is MC's regular price, OP.

If it was available online at this price, that would be news.

They have had the 4770k for $200 in store. $270 is the normal price for in store.

Micro Center is great just by CPU deals, all other stuff they sell way more then online retailers. They just open up new location nearby me and i don't know what to buy, only discount they have is for $30 ASUS 7" tablet (by discount code) and that's all.

They use the CPU as a loss leader so you can buy other stuff from them while you're there. The discount was larger during the Sandy/Ivy Bridge era, with 3770Ks being sold at $229. I have one nearby, and have purchased CPUs from them.

Yeah, you can't beat $229 for a i3770k, and then another $50 off a mobo if bought together. At the time, there were some combos that were under $300 for a i3770k and a decent mobo for less than $300 after tax. Driving to St. Davids on I-76 is a bitch but that's awesome savings.

I have no clue why that store is so awkward to get to. I come at it from the west and it's insane how weird the streets are.

There is something to be said though for being able to go to the store, buy stuff and then install it that night. Don't have to wait for UPS. Their prices are usually within fair enough range too. I mean I don't actually care if the HDD I want costs $56.99 or $58.99. And their CPU/Mobo bundles are usually really solid deals.

FWIW *SOME* have had luck getting fry's and bestbuy to match. If that helps anyone. I picked up mine the week of release for the same price and got another 50$ off a MB. Then i made them match prices on most of the rest of my build. Ever since they dont wanna match prices unless you include next day shipping. That usually results in the price being over their in store price. So I just order on my phone or head to Fry's and tell them have a nice day.

Good luck with Fry's. I tried at the Industry store and the guy whipped out and pointed to the disclaimer that states they do not match MC cpu prices.

Yaa, I got my 2500K for $150 on Black Friday, and the discounted mobo. I think I have bought all of my CPUs and mobos there except one set, as well as 3 of my cases, 2 SSDs, and a bunch of other crap. Love me some MC! Fry's is closer, but I won't ever step foot in that dump again.

Your shopping at the MC I do. I felt the way until about January when the richardson MC decided to stop matching prices unless you add next day shipping per management. Frys here WILL match the MC CPU prices AND every other online price from an authorized reseller. Same product so I will buy for the cheapest price.

Every time I have gone into Fry's I have been disappointed, and the last two times pretty upset. MC has always taken care of me... they will continue to get my money.

Fry's Electronics is a complete dump. Most of the crap that goes on sale have maybe 2 - 3in stock. by the time I get there after work. it's sold out. This happened many times already. And on top of those little arse sale reps, crappy attitude. I no longer buy stuff at fry's. I just go online. I believe in making sales to local economy, but since they don't give a damn. I wont either.

Yep. Fry's turned to shit years ago. TigerDirect/CompUSA is pretty bad too. Microcenter is a substantially better chain.

you have to be careful in fry's, they will sell returned items as new and/or put a label saying it is a return and put it back on the shelf. sometimes you have to root through the shelves to find one that doesn't have that label.

used to live in DFW and I've been to both the arlington and irving stores.
