2 weeks back i wiped of stock paste on stock Intel cooler and applied arctic silver 5

for first week i was happy that i saw 8-9 degrees Celsius drop in temp under load using prime 95 or aida 64 stress test

but on 2nd week and further temperature rose under that same test conditions and temperatures are even worse than my stock cooler with stock paste showed.

WHAT IS WRONG here.

all i see on net is that arctic silver 5 burn s in for a week and gets better whereas its happening OPPOSITE..whats wrong.

Note-(cpu cooler 1 pin broke during reapplication of paste, but its very firm n i dont think cooler is
siiting wrong)

ANY help/ideas appreciated.

You broke the cooler mount, you answered your own question. Time for a new cooler.

LOL. Yeah, Phynaz is completely right.

OP, you screwed up and broke your cooler. It NEEDS to be firmly affixed in ALL four corners. If it's broken, replace it.

Edit: You can get 115x coolers with copper cores, for $9 shipped on ebay. Do it.

but only 1 pin broke, and cpu fan seems fit not moving a bit..are u sure its a fan issue?not sitting right

You have to buy a new cooler. You don't want to hear that, but it's what you have to do. What case do you have?

Honestly, that has absolutely zero to do with whether or not you need to buy a new heatsink. Each of the four pins needs to exert 40+ pounds of downward force. If any of the four is not doing so, your heatsink will need to be replaced, or you will suffer higher CPU temps, as you are seeing now.
