Kind of. The 3570K used to be $189.99 not too long ago.
Just bought one this weekend - $169.99 + $40 combo discount on an open box Z77X-UD5H :)

the 3570K has been at that price since at least October

the 3770K price cut has been more recent but its not anything new, its been that way for a few weeks at least, if not a full month

there's no doubt its a great deal, its just not a new deal, and certainly not in danger of selling out except for maybe when we get a bit closer to Christmas or something and people are buying them up for gifts and they're not getting restocked fast enough

basically, this isn't a liquidation like the recent 2500K @ $99 or the 2700K @ $199

All out of stock at my store.

they'll get them back in stock at the same price, all three MC's in my state have 10+ of each CPU

It was at MC a week before BF. Best deal of the season IMO.

I have to ask where were the 2500K @ $99 was?

Microcenter was liquidating them from their stock the weekend before Thanksgiving.

MicroCenter. Some folks managed to swing the 3570K as a substitute for $99.
Maybe I was late to the party, but I got shut down at the Dallas MC :(

No, MC was getting rid of the 2500K, there wasn't a reason for them to price match with the 3570K. People claiming to get the 3570K were either extremely lucky because they were dealing with an incompetent store, or they were simply lying about it. $99 3570Ks were far from a common occurrence.

Is there any reason to get the 3770k over the 3570k if you plan to OC?

Also are there any combo discounts currently?

There really is no reason to OC at this point. I can play anything on that thing and it hums along like it is sitting still.

The I7 3770K was still at $229 yesterday. I was in the DFW area for the Armed Forces Bowl and couldn't resist picking one up. There's only one Microcenter in the state. Should work well in the hackintosh I'm planning.

Picked-up a 3770k and Asus P8Z77V Pro mobo. The mobo was $189 and from the new flyer, was going up to $199 tomorrow.

Was in the Mayfield Heights, OH store saturday evening and OMG, the lines were astounding...was like old Black Fridays. All the registers were open and there had to be 25 - 30 people waiting to check out.
PIC wanted to score me a late Christmas gift of a CPU/mobo combo so we went in..was hoping they'd let me score a 2500k or 2700k and mobo with the $40 combo discount but alas...no joy.
I decided to wait 'till I can do better

Don't say ya weren't warned

BestBuy will only price match Microcenter if it is local... within 25 miles of you. No online pricematch.

i know dallas can seem like southern oklahoma at times but it hasn't seceded from texas yet.

<--- sitting in houston about 2 miles from a microcenter
