Intel - Hyperthreading bios hack

Hello i read this article a time ago. In that article it said that there where no hardware needed to enable hyperthreading on the P4 or p3 xeon. The only thing needed where some bios options. Wouldnt it be possible then to do a bios hack to enable hyperthreading?`

Has anybody found any information about if this is possible and how etc etc.
