Intel heatsink

If you remove the intel heatsink from the processor can you put it back with the same black thermal pad? Or do you need to remove the pad and apply some grease?
 
they recommend you to put a new coat of thermal paste... well i hope ur not thinking about grease from your stove...

well when i put together my athlon i had to reposition the CPU to fit the socket better, i didn't replace the thermal pad but it works fine. dunno if it will work if you have turned the machine on
