anything new on the K/non K supported instructions TSX/TXT etc?
Anything points to K parts not supporting TSX/TXT which actually is the only thing that bothers me at Haswell.
I'm ok with the lower performance gains, but that's because I don't own a Sandy or an Ivy Bridge and I kind of understand Intel's focus on low-power. We need the kind of performance Intel is able to pull, but in smaller form-factors. And we need smart power saving techniques such as deeper idle states, ram-buffered video output for displays, integrated VR and so on.
Another feature I'm interested in is support for Thunderbolt. Any word on that? I guess it won't be native on this generation, but I do hope it will provide some easy integration and help this technology to emerge.
From my point of view at the performance thresholds Intel is at this moment, the focus they have on IO and power consumption seems about right. However I will be disappointed if they
don't deliver in this area.
