Intel Has 14nm Test Circuits Ready in Its Labs

22nm to 14nm is a very impressive shrink, greater than 45-to-32 or 32-to-22

EDIT: wonder where TSMC/GloF will be by then

Great. I think my Christmas gift in 2015 will be a notebook with 14nm Skylake
Actually I heard AMD/GF prefer 16nm instead of 14nm?

Skylake? booo... buy Haswell or Broadwell. 🙂
I think Broadwell will scheduled to launch in 2014...That's why I'm thinking of Skylake in 2015.
BTW, I'm really looking forward to the new arch of Skylake. I think there must be something interesting gonna happen on it

I haven't decided if I want to upgrade on Intel's ticks or tocks yet. I'm on SB now, so I'll wait until Haswell I guess.

Intel is the absolute best in manufacturing technology. Absolute. Best.

Those who thought GloFo's 32nm process would outdo Intel's just because it was "SOI" were...falling for the typical underdog hype.

If you can point me to one of these people who thought 32nm SOI was going to beat 32nm HKMG I would be much obliged...
Oh your username...I see now...

Well, don't forget that GloFo's 32nm is HKMG + SOI. Also, despite my user name, the majority of the builds I set up for other people are AMD-based. I also own a considerable number of AMD shares. Their graphics tech is top notch and their CPUs are fabulous for budget gaming rigs where the CPU just needs to be "good enough".

I run a GTX 580 mainly because I want PhysX. But if the Radeon HD7000 stuff is as powerful as rumored, you can bet I'll dump this 580 real quick-like.
